Roger Walleck has been named the new President and CEO of Missouri Employers Mutual effective Jan. 1, 2024. Earlier this month, current MEM President and CEO Jim Owen announced his retirement at the end of 2023.
Walleck has served as Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer at MEM since 2017. He directs the company’s pricing and risk selection activities and leads the Customer Care, Premium Consultation, Safety and Risk Services and Underwriting Teams.

Prior to MEM, Walleck spent more than a decade in leadership positions at the Meadowbrook Insurance Group. Walleck also spent more than 20 years at Liberty Mutual, where he worked in underwriting and operations. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Insurance Services. He is an active member of the CPCU Society and the Risk & Insurance Management Society. Walleck has served on the committees of national insurance organizations including Missouri Aggregate Excess Loss Reinsurance Mechanism Committee of the National Council on Compensation Insurance where he currently serves as Chair. He is a member of the Missouri Workers’ Compensation Determinations Board.
Owen is working closely with Walleck to ensure a smooth transition. “Roger is dedicated to our mission, agents and policyholders. He exemplifies what we stand for as an organization and will continue to do so as he begins this new chapter in his career, “ Owen said.
