Agent Partner Program Supports Community Causes

January 11, 2022 • Missouri Employers Mutual

Caring for people has always been one of MEM’s core values, and that extends to the network of independent agents that work with our policyholders.

Through our Signature Partner program with participating agents and a 1:1 match, MEM donated to 19 charitable causes selected by our independent agents in 2021.

“MEM allows us as an agency to select one of the charities we support and choose them for the matching donation,” Barrett Hutchinson, CIC, Owner and Manager at Gallaher Insurance Group said. “This is a great way to increase the amount of support we’re able to give to charities in the communities we have agencies in.”

Amplifying community impact

To qualify for the MEM Signature Partner Program, agencies must achieve the required combined written premium as of Dec. 31, 2022.

“MEM is a tremendous partner with outstanding core values. Your donation allows us to touch more lives and make a greater impact to those in need,” said Daniel Friehs, CIC, Executive Vice President at Marsh & McLennan Agency.

It’s also a means to take giving further, said Kerri Roberts, Chief Operating Officer at TIG Advisors:

“Every year we take a look at non-profits we support and always want to make our dollars stretch. It’s so fun to analyze our giving and be able to choose one charity to have MEM join us in a match. With both of us being local companies in each other’s backyards, this is especially fun to have as a partnership.”

Rich Miller, one of the partners at TIG Advisors, has been involved in Coyote Hill for many years. Team members at TIG took time to work in the Coyote Hill playground build in the summer of 2020.

In some cases, the match comes as a pleasant surprise to community partners.

“There have been times when team members move positions at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks and the fundraising lead my not know the matching check from MEM is coming, and It is always a wonderful surprise for them,” Tricia Ingenito, Marketing Specialist at Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance said.

Tammy Johnson, Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Ollis/Akers/Arney echoed that sentiment:

“We have helped several charitable organizations through MEM’s program and each year, the feedback that we receive from those organizations is a highlight of our year. How amazing that MEM would make funds available to use in this way! #gratefulpartner”

Why our partners give back

We asked some of our Signature Partners to share their why behind the causes they support:

Cline Wood, a Marsh McLennan Agency: Wreaths Across America

“There are so many drivers that are veterans and have given everything for our country. They are giving back for a great cause. It’s crazy to think that these veterans/drivers protect us overseas and then come back to the US and Keep America Moving. We would have nothing without veterans or drivers.”

– Skip Wombold, Producer

Ollis/Akers/Arney: Wreaths Across America

“We are sincere believers in Wreaths Across America’s mission which is to Remember, Honor and Teach. We are committed to remembering our nation’s fallen heroes and ensuring that the legacy and sacrifices they made for all of us are never forgotten. Honoring our active military personnel and retired veterans is the least we can do given the sacrifices they have made and continue to make on our behalf. And teaching our children the value of freedom will be foundational for generations to come.“

– Tammy Johnson, Director of Marketing & Community Relations

BXS Insurance: Senior Age Area Agency on Aging

“At BXS Insurance we believe in giving back to those who have laid the foundation for the liberties we enjoy today.”

– Nina Cogdill, Senior Commercial Lines Marketing Representative

TIG Advisors: Coyote Hill

“TIG is thankful to live and work in a community with so many worthy non-profits and we are grateful to call several of them clients. One of our owners, Rich Miller, has been involved with Coyote Hill for decades as a supporter. Over the years, TIG has been a part of several different projects with CH, my personal favorite being the playground build. It’s such a worthy cause making a huge difference in the lives of children.”

– Kerri Roberts, Chief Operating Officer

Marsh McLennan Agency: St. Louis Area Food Bank

“Marsh & McLennan employees are passionate about serving those in need. We are honored to donate to The St. Louis Area Food Bank. 1 out of every 6 individuals living in MO/IL go hungry every day. The Food Bank provides hope and food to those individuals by partnering with over 500 hunger relief programs.”

– Daniel E. Friehs, CIC, Executive Vice President

HUB International Midwest Limited: Team Up for Down Syndrome

“There are many great causes and organizations to support in Kansas City, and this is one of them. The HUB KC family has been directly impacted by having family members with DS. As an organization that looks to support its associates, we saw this as an opportunity to do so by supporting an organization such as this.”

– Todd Heitshusen, Practice Leader, Commercial Lines

Nixon & Lindstrom Insurance: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks

“Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks is so important to our agency because we feel investing in our youth is imperative for our community. Programs like this reach many children and teens right here in the Ozarks and offer them not only a brighter future but also a mentor along the way.”

– Tricia Ingenito, Marketing Specialist

Gallaher Insurance Group: The Laura Miller George Help Center Food Pantry

“The Help Center plays a vital role in assisting Audrain County families that are in need. No one should have to worry about feeding themselves or especially their children. Each year we hope to play a larger role in helping The Laura Miller George Help Center Food Pantry!”

– Barrett Hutchinson, CIC, Owner/Manager
