MEM Names New Members to Agents’ Advisory Council

Missouri Employers Mutual would like to announce the appointment of three members to its Agents’ Advisory Council: 

Kathy Archer

Kathy Archer is a Commercial Lines Marketing Coordinator with Winter-Dent & Company in Jefferson City, Missouri. She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, earning her  

Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation in 2008. Kathy is a member of Winter-Dent’s 4Sight council, Risk Management Team, and has served on the agency’s wellness committee. Her volunteer work includes St. Raymond’s Society, Jefferson City Rape & Crisis Abuse Service, Cole County Relay for Life and the Jefferson City Public School’s Buddy Pack program. She is a member of Cathedral of St. Joseph parish in Jefferson City, where she is a greeter and former member of the youth commission. 


Todd Heitshusen

Todd Heitshusen is a Practice Leader in commercial lines for HUB International. He has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and has 

had the opportunity to experience commercial lines in various positions before assuming his current position. Heitshusen began his career at Lockton and joined HUB in 2008 after time with

 Holmes Murphy. He enjoys serving as a volunteer coach in youth sports (basketball, baseball, soccer, and football).   


Paul Long

Paul Long is Vice President of Core Solutions at Ollis/Akers/Arney in Springfield, Missouri. He has been a licensed insurance agent since April 1999. Paul has had experience working for both captive and independent agencies and started The Paul Long Agency in 2006. It was acquired by Ollis/Akers/Arney Insurance & Business Advisors in July 2018. 

He works with all lines of insurance, specializing in business and farming clients. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and has received a designation in Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). 

Long is a two-time Auto-Owners insurance presidents’ club member, received top-agent awards for Coventry Medicare Health Plans in Southwest Missouri, past third-generation Bolivar Area Chamber of Commerce president, past third-generation Bolivar Rotary Club President, past president of Enterprises Unlimited (the local sheltered workshop), and a founding board member of the Polk County Economic Coalition.  


The Importance of the Council  

MEM writes exclusively through a network of more than 750 independent agents. The Agents’ Advisory Council is a group of 17 producers, principals, and staff who bring issues to the table on producers’ behalf and advise MEM on different marketing strategies. All agents serve four-year terms on the council.
