Roger Walleck joined Missouri Employers Mutual in 2017 and serves as VP, Chief Underwriting Officer. He provides executive leadership to the department and directs the company’s book of business. In addition, he also leads MEM’s Premium Consultation and Safety and Risk Services teams. Together, this extensive group of insurance professionals deliver thousands of consultations, assessments, and training sessions each year.
Walleck manages agency and policyholder relationships to maximize company profitability and customer service. He also develops MEM’s business by leveraging advanced technologies and data analytics and ensures strategic alignment between the home office and field underwriters.
Prior to MEM, Walleck spent more than a decade in leadership positions at the Meadowbrook Insurance Group, most recently as Chief Underwriting Officer and Executive Vice President. In this role, he set underwriting appetite, tolerance, and limits for carriers of the group. He also oversaw all underwriting activities and the development of predictive analytic models. Walleck held several positions with Liberty Mutual before joining Meadowbrook.
Walleck holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. He holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Insurance Services and is an active member of the Risk & Insurance Management Society. During his insurance career, Walleck has served on the committees of several national insurance organizations and currently sits on the Missouri Aggregate Excess Loss Reinsurance Mechanism committee of NCCI.
