Jennifer Barth is Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Missouri Employers Mutual. In this role, Barth is responsible for leading and counseling the company on a broad range of legal and compliance matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management. She also oversees Human Resources and Facilities.
Barth began her career at MEM in 2005 as the Human Resources Manager. In 2009, she became Legal Counsel and worked in that role until she became General Counsel in 2012. Prior to MEM, she worked as a Managing Attorney for the State of Missouri, with a focus on employment law.
Barth received her bachelor’s in Public Administration from Missouri State University and her law degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Law. She is a 2008 graduate of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Leadership Columbia program and 2013 graduate of Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge.
Barth received her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation through the Society for Human Resource Management and obtained a certificate in Insurance Regulation through The Institutes. She is a current member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network and City of Columbia Personnel Advisory Board. She is a past board member for Meals on Wheels of Columbia and Boys and Girls Club.
