Jennifer Barth is Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Missouri Employers Mutual. In this role, Barth is responsible for leading and counseling the company on a broad range of legal and compliance matters including corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management. She also oversees Human Resources and Facilities.
Barth began her career at MEM in 2005 as Human Resources Manager. In 2009, she became Legal Counsel and worked in that role until she became General Counsel in 2012. Prior to MEM, she worked as a Managing Attorney for the State of Missouri, with a focus on employment law.
Barth received her bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Missouri State University and her law degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She is a 2008 graduate of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Leadership Columbia program and a 2013 graduate of the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge.
Barth received her Senior Professional in Human Resources designation through the Society for Human Resource Management and obtained a certificate in Insurance Regulation through The Institutes. She is a current member of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network and City of Columbia Personnel Advisory Board. She is currently serving as the President of First Chance for Children Board of Directors and Chair of the National Issues Committee for the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds (AASCIF).
