Human Resources Coordinator
Hobbies or interests: I love the outdoors and I enjoy running and spending time with my family.
What I’m passionate about: I’m passionate about new adventures and travel (especially if the outdoors are involved). I lived in Montana years ago and began hiking/jogging in the mountains, and have loved to travel and get outdoors ever since then. It can be a hike in a state park or an early morning run in the city I’m visiting. I love getting to know the area I’ve traveled to in a way that the average tourist doesn’t experience.
Favorite part of my workday: I love having fitness instructors come onsite to teach lunchtime workout classes. I feel more energized and have more energy during the afternoon after attending a class. I feel it truly helps with productivity and the energy of the class is a great midday stress reliever. It’s also a great way to get to know more of my co-workers better that I don’t see throughout my usual workday.
Biggest benefit of working at MEM: I love our wellness program and all the opportunities it affords us to get up and get active, not only in our off-time but also during our work day. We do monthly 5Ks, which are a great health benefit to decompress and de-stress. It’s also a reminder to stand up from your desk (even just for a few minutes) and take a walk. I feel that taking a 15-minute walk helps to get the blood pumping, get fresh air, and soothes the mind, readying you to come back and face what’s waiting at your desk. It helps me feel more productive and satisfied with my work output.
What surprised me about working at MEM: The biggest surprise when I started working here was the family feeling that I got from everyone. It truly is an MEM family that cares about every employee’s safety, well-being, and work-life balance. You can see that with wide array of benefit offerings that the company has. We are a safety company that lives and breathes its values for our policyholders and our own employees.
My biggest accomplishment while working here: For me, it’s a personal accomplishment that’s my biggest while working at MEM. In late 2017, after taking a break many years ago to raise children, run a household and tend to health issues, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree after 20+ years and loved having my children experience it with me. That has meant so much to me.
